What it actually is
Jurusan Teknologi Informasi runs a set of labs, and each one needs somewhere to publish what it does. Lab MMT — Mobile and Multimedia Tech — was my first Project-Based Learning assignment, taken on as both project manager and fullstack developer: agree the sections with the lab, build it, and leave behind something the staff could keep updated without a developer. The public side covers the profile with its vision, mission and organisation chart, plus news, projects, gallery and contact, every page drawn from MySQL. Behind it sits an admin panel reached through a session login with a generated CAPTCHA, where lab staff publish news, projects and gallery items, write up team members, and upload the images themselves into a folder outside the code. The gallery adds search, category and year filters with pagination, because an archive that only grows is an archive nobody can browse. Plain PHP with no framework: routing, validation and uploads are all hand-written, which is also why nothing here needs a build step.
Highlights
- Ran the first PBL engagement end to end — scoped the sections with the lab, split the work, and kept delivery on schedule
- Six public sections served from one MySQL database: profile with vision, mission and organisation chart, plus news, projects, gallery and contact
- Admin panel behind a session login with a generated CAPTCHA, so lab staff publish news, projects and gallery items, team members and image uploads themselves
- Gallery search with category, year and pagination controls, so the archive stays browsable as it grows
