What it actually is
TB Cahaya Baru has sold building materials in Malang since 2010, and every order used to start with a phone call. This site was the Project-Based Learning assignment I chose to take on as both project manager and fullstack developer: scope the storefront with the owner, build it, and hand over something the shop could actually run without me. The result is a Laravel application where the catalogue is rendered on the server — 28 products and 30 services, each with its own page — while filtering by brand, stock and price happens in the browser without a round trip. The cart treats goods and delivery services as two separate totals, because a load of cement and a per-kilometre delivery are not the same line item, then hands the finished order to WhatsApp with the customer's name, phone and address already filled in. No payment gateway, no monthly bill: the shop keeps the ordering habit it already had.
Highlights
- Ran the PBL engagement end to end — scoped the site with the shop owner, split the work, and kept the build on schedule
- Server-rendered catalogue over 28 products and 30 services, with brand, stock and price-sort filters that respond without a reload
- Cart totals products and per-kilometre delivery services separately, then sends the whole order to WhatsApp with the customer's details attached
- No payment gateway by design, so the shop keeps its existing WhatsApp workflow and pays nothing to run the site
